MiMù is the union of two surnames initials, Michieli and Murer, surnames of mum and sons establishing a new bond that goes beyond the family relationship.
Starting her career as a teacher, Carla – the mother – discovered later a natural entrepreneurial inclination. At the end of the 70s’ she joined the children’s clothing family business . Carla used to divide her time between teaching, cutting and sewing for all collections to be done, choosing raw materials and then the most beautiful and hard work: being a mum to her children Marco and Elisa.
When her family decided to no longer run the company, Carla dedicated herself to her children putting aside her dreams hoping to return, perhaps one day, to the job she enjoyed that much.
As the years go by, Marco and Elisa grew up: Elisa became a mother and Carla a grandmother.
Today Carla is a young grandmother who likes things made according to tradition. As many grandmothers dealing with their first grandson, Carla started looking for quality natural fibers layettes and comfortable garments that put wellbeing in the first place. She tried to understand what the market offered and began to think about clothing she used to produce within her family business. A well defined idea of kidswear began to take shape in her mind; those clothes she wasn’t able to find in the market.
She exchanged views with Elisa and Marco who jokingly commented “if it doesn’t exist, why don’t we go for it?”. And that’s how, on November the 29th 2018, MiMù was founded.
